Description
PBW (Powder Brewery Wash) is a non-caustic alkaline cleaner, not a caustic chemical like sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. It’s designed as a safe alternative to caustic cleaners for brewing equipment, and it’s effective in removing tough, caked-on organic soils.
PBW is a buffered alkaline detergent, meaning it’s designed to be safe for skin and materials like stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and copper while still being effective at cleaning.
You can soak items in a PBW solution or use it in a CIP (Clean-In-Place) system. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for concentration and soak time.
